WoW Forever has 107,827 Warlock characters, and 61,789 of them (57.3%) are Horde. The class ranks sixth on Horde and ninth on Alliance.

The census counts 107,827 Warlock characters in the WoW Forever beta as of November 1, 2026. That is 9.4% of all 1,148,135 characters, which makes the Warlock the eighth most played class. The class leans Horde: 61,789 Warlocks are Horde and 46,038 are Alliance, so the Horde holds 57.3% of the class. Across all classes, the Horde's share of characters is 51.4%.

Sixth on Horde, ninth on Alliance

The Warlock ranks differently on each side. On the Horde, its 61,789 characters are 10.5% of the faction's 590,412, sixth among classes. On the Alliance, its 46,038 characters are 8.3% of the faction's 557,723, ninth among classes. The Horde has 15,751 more Warlock characters than the Alliance, and the class takes about 2 points more of the Horde's characters than of the Alliance's.

Warlock characters by faction

Undead, Human and Gnome lead the race list

Five races account for the largest groups of Warlock characters:

UndeadHorde31,93529.6%16.0%
HumanAlliance24,55022.8%13.6%
GnomeAlliance21,48819.9%25.6%
TrollHorde15,77014.6%19.4%

Undead Warlocks are the largest group by a clear margin: 7,385 more characters than Human Warlocks, the second largest. Undead alone account for 29.6% of all Warlock characters.

The share of each race that plays the class tells a different story. About one in four Gnome characters is a Warlock (25.6%), the highest share among these five races. Trolls come next at 19.4%. Orcs have the lowest share at 12.7%, even though they still have more than 14,000 Warlock characters.

Warlock characters by race, top five

None of these five pairings is new in WoW Forever. Each of the five leading Warlock races could already play the class, so the Warlock's largest groups all come from existing pairings.

A small rise over October

The Warlock's share of all characters moved from 9.2% on October 2, 2026 to 9.4% on October 31, 2026, a rise of 0.2 points. Across the month, the class kept roughly the same place in the overall mix.

What these numbers measure

These figures count characters, not players. One player can have several characters, including more than one Warlock or characters on both factions. The totals cover every character the census has recorded since the beta opened, at every level, so they include characters made once and never played again. A share here is a class's or race's part of those recorded characters as of November 1, 2026. It does not count how many people play the class or how active those characters are.
