WoW Forever Has 110,875 Rogue Characters; Undead Play 23.9% of Them

The census counts 110,875 Rogues, 9.7% of all characters and 7th among classes. Undead make up 23.9% of them, and the class share fell from 10.6% to 9.7%.

The WoW Forever beta census counts 110,875 Rogue characters, or 9.7% of the 1,148,135 characters recorded as of October 27, 2026. That makes the Rogue the 7th class overall. It ranks 6th on the Alliance and 7th on the Horde. Undead are by far the largest Rogue race, with 26,501 characters, or 23.9% of all Rogues. None of the Rogue's race pairings is new in WoW Forever. Over the past month, the class's share fell from 10.6% to 9.7%.

These are characters, not players. One player can have several characters, and the census only counts characters it has recorded.

Rank on each faction

The two factions have about the same number of Rogues. The Horde has 56,134 and the Alliance has 54,741, a gap of 1,393 in the Horde's favour. The Horde is also the larger faction overall, with 590,412 characters to the Alliance's 557,723. Rogues make up 9.8% of the Alliance and 9.5% of the Horde.

The Rogue ranks 6th among Alliance classes and 7th among Horde classes. Of all Rogues, 50.6% are Horde and 49.4% are Alliance.

Which races play Rogue

Rogue characters by race, all realms

Undead lead with 26,501 Rogues. That is 9,171 more than Humans, the second-largest Rogue race with 17,330. Next come Skyborne on the Horde side (13,497), Night Elves (13,233) and Gnomes (12,037), followed by Orcs (10,512) and Skyborne on the Alliance side (9,929). Trolls (5,624) and Dwarves (2,212) have the fewest.

The order changes if you look at how much of each race plays Rogue, rather than at raw counts:

RaceRogue charactersShare of raceShare of all Rogues
Gnome12,03714.4%10.9%
Night Elf13,23313.4%11.9%
Undead26,50113.3%23.9%
Skyborne (H)13,49712.3%12.2%
Human17,3309.6%15.6%
Orc10,5129.5%9.5%
Skyborne (A)9,9299.5%9.0%
Troll5,6246.9%5.1%
Dwarf2,2122.4%2.0%

By this measure, Gnomes choose Rogue most often: 14.4% of Gnome characters are Rogues. Night Elves come next at 13.4%, then Undead at 13.3%. Only 2.4% of Dwarves play Rogue, the lowest share of any Rogue race.

Undead, Skyborne, Orc and Troll Rogues make up every Horde Rogue counted here. Human, Night Elf, Gnome, Skyborne and Dwarf Rogues make up every Alliance Rogue. All nine of these pairings existed before WoW Forever, so the Rogue has no race pairing that is new in this version.

How the share has moved

Rogue share of all characters

On September 27, 2026, the Rogue held 10.6% of all recorded characters. By October 26, 2026, it held 9.7%, a drop of 0.9 points. The census keeps adding characters as it records them. The falling share means that over this period, Rogues made up a smaller part of the new characters than they did of the earlier total.

What the numbers measure

Every figure here comes from the census snapshot of October 27, 2026. The snapshot covers every character recorded since the beta opened, at every level, and every count is a count of characters. The class share is the Rogue's part of all characters recorded up to a given day, so it tracks how the class mix changed as the census grew. It does not measure how many characters are active now. "Share of race" is the percentage of a race's characters who are Rogues. "Share of all Rogues" is the percentage of the 110,875 Rogues who belong to that race.
