WoW Forever has 134,886 Paladin characters, 11.7% of the 1,148,135 characters in the census, and 63% of them belong to a race pairing that is new in WoW Forever. Undead and Dwarf Paladin characters total 84,916, while Human, the one Paladin pairing that is not new, has 49,970. The class ranks third overall, third on the Alliance and fourth on the Horde. Its share of all characters rose by 1 point between September 29 and October 28, 2026.
Three races fill the class
Only three races appear in the Paladin count, and each faction's total comes entirely from them. Undead accounts for every Horde Paladin character. Human and Dwarf together account for every Alliance one.
| Race | Faction | Characters | Share of Paladin characters | Paladin share of the race | New in WoW Forever |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Undead | Horde | 69,102 | 51.2% | 34.6% | Yes |
| Human | Alliance | 49,970 | 37.0% | 27.7% | No |
| Dwarf | Alliance | 15,814 | 11.7% | 17.5% | Yes |
Undead leads on both measures. It has 19,132 more Paladin characters than Human, and it alone makes up just over half of the class. Paladin is also a larger part of the Undead race, at 34.6% of its characters, than of Human at 27.7% or Dwarf at 17.5%.
The two new pairings differ widely in size. Undead has 53,288 more Paladin characters than Dwarf. On the Alliance side, the older pairing stays well ahead: Human holds 76.0% of Alliance Paladin characters and Dwarf holds 24.0%.
Third on the Alliance, fourth on the Horde
The Horde has more Paladin characters, 69,102 against the Alliance's 65,784, a gap of 3,318. Even so, the class ranks one place lower on the Horde. Each rank is measured within its own faction, so a higher count on one side does not mean a higher rank there.
As a share of each faction, the class is almost level: 11.8% of the Alliance's 557,723 characters and 11.7% of the Horde's 590,412, a gap of 0.1 points. The Horde holds 51.2% of all Paladin characters, close to its 51.4% share of all characters. In other words, the class splits between the factions at nearly the same rate as the census as a whole.
The share rose from 10.7% to 11.7%
On September 29, 2026, Paladin characters made up 10.7% of all characters. By October 28, 2026, that figure was 11.7%, a rise of 1 point. The chart below joins those two days only, so it shows the overall change and not the path between them.
What these numbers measure
These figures come from the census snapshot of October 29, 2026. They count characters, not players, and one player can have several characters. The census can only record characters that were online and scanned, so the totals are not a headcount of the people playing. The 63% is calculated from the character counts for Undead and Dwarf, and the shares in the table are rounded, so they add up to slightly less than 100%.
