The census counts 106,265 Priest characters in the WoW Forever beta. That is 9.3% of the 1,148,135 characters recorded as of November 3, 2026. The class's share was 9.3% on October 4, 2026 and still 9.3% on November 2, 2026, with a change of -0.1 points, so it slipped slightly but rounds to the same figure on both days. The Priest ranks ninth of all classes, seventh on the Alliance and eighth on the Horde.
A slightly bigger role on the Alliance
The Alliance has 54,396 Priest characters and the Horde has 51,869, a gap of 2,527. The Alliance comes out ahead even though the Horde is the bigger faction overall, with 590,412 characters (51.4%) against 557,723 (48.6%). Of all Priest characters, the Alliance holds 51.2% and the Horde 48.8%.
Within each faction, Priests make up 9.8% of Alliance characters and 8.8% of Horde characters. On the Alliance that share puts the class seventh. On the Horde it puts it eighth. Across both factions combined it comes in ninth.
Undead lead, and the Horde's Priests come from two races
Undead are the biggest Priest race by a wide margin, with 36,541 characters, or 34.4% of all Priest characters. Gnomes come second with 20,363, which leaves a gap of 16,178 characters. After them come Humans with 17,707, Trolls with 15,328, Night Elves with 12,267 and Dwarves with 4,059.
All of the Horde's Priest characters are Undead or Troll: 36,541 plus 15,328 is exactly the faction's 51,869. On the Alliance the class is spread over four races. Gnomes lead there and Humans are close behind.
None of these six race and class pairs is marked as new in WoW Forever.
How much of each race plays Priest
The table can also be read the other way round: what share of each race's characters are Priests. Gnomes lead on this measure, with 24.3% of Gnome characters playing Priest. Trolls follow at 18.8% and Undead at 18.3%. The share drops to 12.4% for Night Elves, 9.8% for Humans and 4.5% for Dwarves.
Five of the six races are above the class's overall share of 9.3%. Humans are only just above it, at 9.8%, but they still supply 16.7% of all Priest characters, the third-largest group. Gnomes are second by count and first by the share of their own race. Dwarves are the only race below the overall share, with 4.5%.
What the numbers measure
These figures come from the census snapshot of November 3, 2026, which covers every character recorded since the beta opened, at every level. They count characters, not players: one player can have several characters, and the census only sees characters that were online when a scan ran. The daily share is the Priest's share of all characters recorded up to each day. A change of -0.1 points between October 4 and November 2, 2026 means Priest characters were added slightly more slowly than the beta's characters overall.
